As the guys and I kicked back Saturday to recap on our usual Friday dance, we became overwhelmed. Don’t worry, it’s in a really good way. We were astonished at the instant support given by this brand new, rabid swing dance scene. You, ladies and gentlemen, love to dance! It’s been two months since we held our first dance under “North End Swing” and the response is reaching higher heights than we were anticipating. After our first big hiccup of our usual venue canceling on us an hour and a half before we were to start, we watch in amazement as every one of you poured into the new “emergency” venue two miles away. With a prayer, a really quick Facebook update and a small piece of paper saying, “hey, now we’re two miles up that street next to you, this venues’ restrooms are flooded…who knew.” you helped pull it off. What a successful, fun-filled dance we had. We enjoyed meeting all of the new faces. Keep them coming!
Check back throughout the weekend, the gang is off to Portland! We head to spend the weekend on the floor at the Portland Lindy Exchange. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones! Oh, the life a Lindy Hopper!
No worries! After we return, the strait genius teachings of Peter Flahiff and Ben White, accompanied by the beautiful Taylor Stender, will fill our weekend of the 9th of March to the 12th, to the brim. Balboa introductory classes, Lindy Hop basics, Advanced classes in both! A master class, ladies vintage hair and make up class, and a ton of social dancing! We like it so much we’ve posted it everywhere….and we will again and again. Check it out!
